Genital Herpes Infection – Cure Herpes Symptoms – Oral Herpes Virus Infection Treatment

Herpes Symptoms

Herpes SymptomsHerpes symptoms signs vary according to the type of infection and, in the case of genital herpes, the sex of the host as shown below. Other herpes simplex symptoms may manifest as:

* An oral herpes infection known to most as a “cold sore”. The oral mucosa and/or abraded skin on the lips is attacked, creating an area of infection characterized by sores or blisters.

* Keratitis – a herpes infection that affects the eye. This causes inflammation in the cornea at the front of the eye. The infection may impair eyesight and cause pain and discomfort. There are two types of keratitis:

1 Superficial keratitis – does not usually leave scarring after infection ceases, and

2 Deep keratitis – can leave a scar if left to heal without eyedrops. Drops may reduce the risk of scarring.

Keratitis may sometimes be confused with conjunctivitis as the symptoms are similar. If you are unsure you should check with your local personal physician.

Other herpes simplex symptoms may include visible sores on hands (particularly fingers and thumbs) or cause serious damage to vital organs, including potential brain damage through herpes encephalitis.
It is important to note that just because you have one type of herpes infection does not necessarily mean you have more or all. This can happen through self inoculation, e.g. touching an open skin sore and then your eyes, or through a new infection from another carrier.
In all cases of herpes it is best to consult your doctor and seek medication upon advice.

A genital herpes infection is commonly an STD. Infection can also be spread by self inoculation. This, as with all herpes viruses, may lie dormant and not present symptoms. However, it is worth getting tested regularly by a doctor as the virus is virulent and is still spreading. Half a million new American adults test positive for genital herpes every year. One of the problems is that the infection may still shed the virus to other partners, even with no outward symptoms.

Female herpes genital symptoms are:

Sores and lesions around the pubis, labia, clitoris and vulva. Further infection may be spread around the area, the buttocks and anus. Possible discharge from the vagina.

Male herpes genital symptoms are:

Similar sores and lesions around the penis and inner things, buttocks and anus. Possible discharge from the penis.

Many kinds of herpes may present symptoms of fever, headache, nausea and more. If you think you may have been exposed to the herpes virus, or are showing herpes symptoms signs, it is best to consult your doctor and keep the area clean and covered.
